About Osmania University: Osmania University, established in 1918, is the seventh oldest in India, the third oldest in south India and the first to be established in the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad. Throughout its existence of over eight decades, it has shown remarkable progress and sustained an integrated development of all faculties. It has significantly contributed to the academic and economic development of not only the region but also of the Country. Its alumni have distinguished themselves nationally and internationally in various spheres of life and are spread far and wide around the world.

In recognition of its excellent academic achievements, Osmania University had the distinction of being awarded the ‘A’ Grade status by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) of the University Grants Commission, Government of India in the year 2008.

One of the prime endeavors of the University has been to bring-in required changes in course contents along with innovations in the delivery of Higher Education. Consequently appropriate design and introduction of new courses, that are so essential for an active engagement with the community around, have always been its hallmark.

The Railway Service Commission, Gorakhpur was established on 14 July, 1984. Initially this RRB alongwith RRB-Muzaffarpur was catering requirement of North Eastern Railway.

In January, 1985 Railway Service Commissions were renamed as Railway Recruitment Board's (RRB's). In the year 1998 all RRBs came under the control of the Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRCB) which was set up in the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), New Delhi to coordinate and streamline the working of RRBs.

With reorganisation of Zonal Railways, in year 2002 RRB -Muzaffarpur became part of East Central Railway and RRB-gorakhpur only is catering to the requirement of North Eastern Railways.
